Job Opportunity: Seeking Lab Manager for the Social Development Lab
The Social Development Lab at UVA's Center for the Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL), School of Education and Human Development, is hiring a Lab Manager!
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of faculty, students, and staff advancing research in social-emotional learning. The Lab Manager will support the development, design, and implementation of research projects under the direction of Dr. Sara Rimm-Kaufman. Current projects include a new 2026 initiative exploring the experiences of Jewish youth with social media, as well as work supporting the closure of a post-doctoral training grant.
The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about education research.

Students
The UVA Social Development Lab typically accepts one to two doctoral and masters students per year to engage in mentored learning experiences and contribute to our work. These students typically matriculate through the Doctoral Training Program in Educational Psychology: Applied Developmental Science or the Master in Educational Psychology: Applied Developmental Science at the School of Education and Human Development. Opportunities for undergraduate students interested in obtaining research experiences are often available as well. Contact our lab for more information.
