Abstract
An essay is presented on teacher beliefs and personality characteristics among pre-service teachers and teaching candidates. The author discusses teacher education and its affect on future teacher quality, we well as the ways in which teachers can support student learning and development. The author also mentions demographic attributes and their affect on teacher beliefs and quality. Teacher relationships with students, teacher education programs, the unlearning of existing beliefs, college students, and school culture.
