Kristen Jones is our Project Manager for The Service-Learning and Science Project. She is a former Fairfax County Public School teacher and University Supervisor at the University of Virginia. She brings her own teaching experience, as well as involvement with gifted education to the current project. Kristen also has experience training James Madison University students and faculty to lead service-learning projects. In addition, Kristen has twin 5 year olds who bring a fresh perspective to child development on a daily basis.
Michelle Ko is our Data Manager. She is responsible for developing, organizing and maintaining our abundant data assets. Originally from the great city of Hong Kong, she is a graduate of the University of Virginia. Her background is in Mathematics and Statistics. In her spare time, she enjoys water sports, reading, traveling and spending time with her pets, Waffles and Drogo, and her husband, Eugene.
Julie Broderick Thomas is the Managing Director of the Social Development Lab. Julie ensures that our people, projects and technology are performing optimally to support our research efforts. Julie joined our lab after working as a Manager for Ernst & Young LLP’s Information Technology advisory group in Mclean, VA. She enjoys solving problems, renovating homes with her husband, Matt, spending time with her daughters, Maeve and Ree, and their super fast dog, Wheels. In her free time, she loves to travel, run, and sew.
